From Kyoto Station, take the subway Karasuma-Line to Karasuma-Oike Station (6 minutes), change to Tozai-Line up to Nijojo-mae* Station (2 min) and walk about 5 minutes to Akane-an.

Kikyou-an (English)

At 5 to 7 minutes walking  from the train and subway station of Nijo, convenient to go to Kyoto Central Station and to other subway lines (Higashiyama). Also at a walking distance from the Randen train (to Arashiyama).

In the heart of a typical Kyoto’s stone-paved neighborhood.
The house is fully restored in traditional style with  high quality natural wood used in walls and flooring.

Kurenai-an (English)

Located in a very privileged area, near the corner of Shijo Street and Karasuma Street. In the heart of the business quarter but in a  very quiet little neighborhood hiding behind  a small shrine.
It takes only 10 to 15 minutes walking to  the east to the famous quarter of Gion, and 5 to 7 minutes to the north to Nishiki Food Market (known as “the kitchen of Kyoto”).

The house has been fully restored in both traditional and elegant Kyoto style. A high quality of woods and fornitures have been used.
