Just a 10-minute walk from Shinsen-en Garden, an ancient Japanese garden also known as one of Kyoto’s spiritual power spots, Wakakusa-an is a small yet charming machiya townhouse.
Enjoy the quiet atmosphere of this cozy house, nestled along a beautiful neighborhood with narrow stone-paved streets. Wakakusa-an is located near our other property, Kikyo-an, making it convenient for larger groups to use both houses together.
Nearby, you will also find Gekko Inari Shrine, founded during the Edo Period, which is said to have inspired the name of the surrounding area.
On the ground floor, the house features a traditional Japanese guest room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and two toilets. The upper floor offers both a tatami space and a Western-style bedroom with beds.
With excellent access to many of Kyoto’s sightseeing spots, Wakakusa-an is the perfect base to enjoy an authentic and relaxing stay in Kyoto.
