At Machiya-Inn Co., Ltd., our theme is “Stay as if you live here”—offering journeys that let guests truly experience the depth and tradition of Kyoto. When we first began restoring Machiya townhouses for use as accommodations, few knew they could serve such a purpose, and we faced many challenges. This makes it all the more rewarding to now welcome guests from across Japan and around the world, while recognizing the importance of preserving Kyoto’s architectural heritage for future generations.

We want our Machiya to be a place where guests can relax and feel at home, surrounded by the elegance unique to Kyoto. Comments such as “It felt like coming back to my hometown” assure us that we’ve delivered the experience we set out to create.

Our team is composed of professionals from diverse industries, bringing unique ideas, adaptability, and a strong commitment to protecting Kyoto’s traditional townhouses. We aim to expand our accommodations and welcome even more guests, believing that our staff’s passion, mindset, and skills are the foundation of our hospitality.
