Demizu Machiya is a traditional Kyoto townhouse over 120 years old, located just north of Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stands directly in front of Yamanaka Abura, a long-established oil shop with a history of over 200 years.
The atmosphere around the house is steeped in history, allowing guests to experience the charm of old Japan and the authentic culture of Kyoto.
You can see detailed construction's structure at Demizu-Machiya, because this house is over 140 years old. Also the area is typical Kyoto's living town, it was used to a area of the Emperor's female court's residence of Heian period.
